Heart of Bucks are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated Finance Assistant to support the day-to-day finance functions of our charity. Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role’s purpose is to provide accurate, timely and confidential finance administration and bookkeeping support, helping ensure financial processes, records and reporting are well-managed.
The post is 15 hours per week, with some hybrid working available.
- Salary: £26,227 per annum (FTE)
- Contract: Permanent
- Hours: Part Time – 15 hours per week (across 2-3 days per week)
- Closing date: 26 October 2026
- Interviews: We expect to hold interviews in the week commencing 9th November 2026 at our office in central Aylesbury where you would be based.

About The Role
This role will support the day-to-day finance functions of our charity, looking after the company bank accounts, being responsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable duties, gift aid processing and acting as the first point of contact for any routine finance queries.

About You
To be effective in this role, you’ll have prior bookkeeping experience and understanding of financial controls, confidentiality and data protection. You’ll need to be able to process financial information accurately and maintain records in line with organisational. Your great communication skills will be required to engage with the broad range of stakeholders and suppliers we work with. Strong administrative and organisational skills will be required to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
Experience of Sage 50 would be really helpful in this role, but please don't be put off applying if you don't have all the skills we need, so long as you are willing and able to learn as you go.
