Finance Assistant

Based in Cheadle Hulme, Cheshire, we strive to be the ‘Go To’ finance team for local businesses, providing first-class outsourced finance support. We are a friendly and supportive team and pride ourselves on the quality of our work, our quick response and, most importantly, our approachability.

Your Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling general bookkeeping tasks, including bank reconciliations and sales/purchase invoicing for multiple clients.
  • Preparing and processing supplier payment runs for client approval.
  • Preparing VAT returns and carrying out internal checks for manager review.
  • Assisting in management report preparation, including posting salary, prepayment, and accrual journal entries.
  • Acting as the main point of contact for clients, providing support in person, via telephone, email, and virtual meetings.
  • Managing clients’ accounts inboxes, answering queries where necessary.

This job might be for you if …

  • You are an experienced Finance Assistant with AAT or ICB qualifications.
  • You have experience using Xero Accounting Software (training will be provided for the right candidate).
  • You have strong attention to detail and believe that if a job is worth doing, it’s worth doing right.
  • You’re eager to learn and pick up new skills quickly.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced environment and enjoy staying organised.
  • You like to be well-prepared, and planning/organisation comes naturally to you.
