About the Role
To help us deliver exceptional service we are seeking to recruit a Finance Assistant to provide financial support across operational finance, debt management and accurate reporting, while working closely with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
You will be passionate about providing the best possible levels of customer service and will put the safety and the needs of the customer first every time. You will deliver an outstanding customer experience, exceeding expectations daily. This is a permanent position working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday supporting the marina teams. The successful applicant will be required to attend various training courses in the initial period of employment as part of a full induction process.
The role will include but not limited to:
- Raise rental, service charge, utility, insurance and ad hoc invoices, including credits and tenant recharges.
- Process lease amendments, new lettings, renewals, rent reviews and exits, updating authorities, utility providers and insurers as required.
- Maintain rent deposit records and complete daily banking, account allocations and monthly bank reconciliations.
- Manage the Credit Control and Estates Finance inboxes, issue tenant statements and support timely debt collection and query resolution.
- Support property and service charge budgets, forecasts, accruals, year-end reconciliations, balance sheet reconciliations and audit activity.
- Raise purchase orders and process Council Tax invoices, reconciling council vendor accounts with Accounts Payable.
- Liaise with rate consultants and Estate Managers to keep vacant property rates accurate and up to date.
- Complete other finance and administrative tasks as required.

Requirements
The key requirements for this role are but not limited to:
- Previous experience in a finance, accounts administration, credit control or similar office-based role.
- Confident working with financial information, with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good IT skills, including confidence using Microsoft Office and finance or accounting systems.
- Able to communicate professionally with customers, tenants, suppliers and internal colleagues by phone and email.
- Organised and able to manage a varied workload, meet deadlines and follow financial processes accurately.
- A proactive, flexible and positive approach, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong customer service skills, with the confidence to support query resolution in a helpful and professional manner.
- Awareness of the importance of confidentiality, compliance and accurate record keeping within a finance environment.
- Educated to at least GCSE level or equivalent, including English and Maths.
