Autumnal Partners are working with a leading British mid-market private equity fund manager to find a Finance Assistant to join their finance team, reporting to the Group Financial Controller.
Our client invests in growing services and technology businesses and manages funds of over £2 billion on behalf of institutional investors. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to kick-start their financial career at an established asset management firm, developing their accounting skills in a supportive environment surrounded by qualified accountants, with a competitive study support package towards a recognised accountancy qualification.

The Role
Reporting into the Group Financial Controller, you'll take ownership of:
- Purchase and sales ledger data entry on the firm's accounting system
- Preparing balance sheet and P&L account reconciliations via Excel
- Preparing and posting journal entries for monthly management accounts, including prepayments and accruals
- Weekly cash book and bank reconciliations
- Processing expense claims via the company's expenses portal
- Payment run processing using the firm's accounting system and online banking platforms
- Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns
- Providing ad hoc support across the wider finance team

About You
You'll be a recent graduate (2023/2024) with strong academics (2:1 or above) from a Russell Group university with excellent supporting A-Levels, looking to build a career in accountancy.
You'll bring:
- A genuine desire to become a professionally qualified accountant through a recognised qualification
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- A collaborative, team-oriented approach
