Finance Assistant

London | £30,000 - £35,000 DOE + Bonus + Private Healthcare + Excellent Benefits

Are you an organised and detail-oriented Finance Assistant looking to join a fast-growing creative agency with an exciting client portfolio?

We're partnering with an award-winning independent marketing agency that delivers innovative campaigns for some of the world's biggest consumer brands. Working across experiential marketing, live events, brand activations, social campaigns and youth-focused marketing, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a collaborative and ambitious business where you'll play a key role within a growing finance team.

Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you'll support the day-to-day financial operations of the agency, helping to ensure accurate reporting, strong financial controls and the smooth running of campaign finances. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a solid bookkeeping or finance background who enjoys working in a fast-paced, creative environment and is looking to develop their career.

As Finance Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing daily financial transactions, including invoices, payments, receipts and journals.
  • Managing the purchase ledger and supporting accounts payable activities.
  • Completing regular bank reconciliations.
  • Monitoring company expenses and ensuring accurate coding and record keeping.
  • Assisting with month-end processes, financial reporting and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Supporting the maintenance of the general ledger.
  • Assisting with audit preparation and financial compliance.
  • Supporting cashflow reporting with accurate and timely financial information.
  • Liaising with internal project teams regarding campaign WIP and project costs.
  • Maintaining finance systems, including Paprika and Xero.
  • Providing wider administrative and financial support to the Finance Controller when required.

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

  • At least 2 years' experience within a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or Bookkeeper role.
  • Previous experience using accounting software such as Paprika and/or Xero.
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong numerical and analytical skills.
  • A proactive approach with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • A good understanding of UK accounting principles, VAT and financial processes.
  • Previous experience within a creative, marketing, media or events agency would be advantageous, although not essential.
