Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council
We are seeking a highly organised, reliable and motivated Finance Assistant to join our team and support the Business Manager with the day-to-day financial and administrative functions of the Academy.
The successful candidate will have excellent organisational and numerical skills, strong attention to detail and the ability to manage confidential financial information. You should be proactive, reliable, well organised and confident communicating with colleagues, parents and external organisations.

Key responsibilities
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- Raising Purchase Orders
- Processing invoices ensuring all supporting documentation is complete and accurate
- Reconciling Business Charge Card transactions and dealing with Petty Cash claims
- Supporting the Business Manager with Annual Audit preparation
- Gathering quotes
- Reconciling childcare fees, and Early Education Funding claims
- Issuing invoices
- Submitting VAT returns
- Responding to financial queries, resolving discrepancies

Salary
Band C (points 8-14) £27,709 - £30,515 pro rata
Hours
18 per week Tuesday – Thursday 9.30am-4.00pm (working pattern is negotiable)
