About The Role
Pertemps Bristol Commercial seeks a Finance Assistant for an office-based position in Bristol City Centre. This full-time role runs Monday to Friday, 9:00am to 5:30pm, paying £13.55 hourly. Initially temporary, it offers potential for permanent employment. Duties suit someone with strong administration experience and excellent Excel abilities. Previous accounts exposure helps but is not required. The successful candidate will handle financial records, support daily operations, and learn new systems. An organised, detail-focused approach is essential. Confidence with spreadsheets and a willingness to develop within finance are key attributes for this vacancy.
Location: Bristol City Centre (Office based)
Contract: Temporary, with potential to go permanent
Hours: 9:00am – 5:30pm, Monday to Friday
Pay: £13.55 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing and reconciling sales and purchase transactions
- Processing invoices, payments and receipts
- Supporting credit control, including agent statements and final invoices
- Completing bank reconciliations and maintaining cashbooks
- Preparing and processing weekly payment runs
- Supporting month-end and year-end processes
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies and unreconciled items
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supporting schedules
- Providing information to support audits and statutory accounts
- Responding to finance queries from colleagues and stakeholders
- Creating and updating process documentation

You’ll Ideally Have:
- Strong administration and organisational skills
- Good Excel skills and data analysis
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- The ability to work with data and identify discrepancies
- Good communication skills and a professional approach
- The ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
- A proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks
- A positive, collaborative attitude
- A genuine desire to learn and develop

About You
We’re looking for someone who is organised, accurate and confident working with data, with strong administration and Excel skills.
You may have previous experience in a Finance Assistant, Accounts Assistant or similar role, but this is not essential. We would also be keen to hear from strong administrators who are looking to move into a finance-focused position.
