Role: Finance Assistant

Location: Fully Remote, however, will need to go into London once a month (Training will also be onsite)
Start Date: ASAP
End Date: 6 months rolling contract
Daily Rate: £150 per day - Inside IR35

Role purpose

The Finance Assistant will support the day-to-day running of the finance function by managing a shared mailbox, data entry, raising invoices, responding to project-related queries, producing various reports and MI, reconciling data across systems, and assisting with the preparation of the monthly profit and loss account. The role requires strong organisation, attention to detail, and the ability to work accurately and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key duties and main responsibilities

  • Manage the shared mailbox, responding to queries and requests promptly and professionally.
  • Monitor associate timesheet submissions and ensure they are completed and approved correctly.
  • Assist with the preparation and delivery of the monthly P&L and partner reporting packs.
  • Process incoming invoices, ensuring they are approved and paid within contractual terms.
  • Raising client invoices, ensuring they are processed and uploaded in a timely manner.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide support to the wider Finance team as required.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and support automation where possible.
  • Complete weekly reconciliations between systems, ensuring costs and revenue are entered accurately.
  • Assist with weekly and monthly journal preparation, allocating costs to the correct engagements.

Essential:

  • Previous purchase ledger or invoice processing experience.
  • Experience of working in a finance team, with a basic understanding of profit and loss reporting.
  • Experience of working in a professional or corporate environment.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships.
  • Ability to investigate issues, resolve queries, and identify practical solutions.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage workload effectively.
  • Ability to work accurately and flexibly in a fast-paced, changing environment.
