The Role in a snapshot

Location: The Sweet Factory, Marylebone (hybrid)
Salary: Competitive, based on experience

The Finance Assistant at Candy Kittens will be responsible for the processing of transactional finance activity across the Group's entities, including accounts payable invoice processing, credit control, and expense administration.

Working closely with the Finance Manager, you will be essential for keeping maintain a clean, well-controlled transactional ledger across multiple fast-growing brands.

Specific goals for the role include:

  • Investigating invoice discrepancies and working directly with customers to resolve them
  • Identifying process efficiency opportunities and ways to automate

This exciting position offers a broad role within a high growth environment.

What you'll be responsible for...

  • Own the end-to-end AP invoice cycle — from receipt of invoice and coding through to posting into the accounting software — ensuring accuracy and control across all Group entities.
  • Work closely with the wider Candy Kittens team to manage timely approvals to meet monthly deadlines
  • Oversee AR credit note processing, ensuring correct coding, VAT treatment, and audit trail are maintained across the customer ledger.
  • Drive proactive collection activity across retailer and wholesale customer accounts, resolving queries at source and keeping cash coming in on schedule.
  • Manage the expenses process end-to-end, holding the business to account on timely submission, completeness, and policy-compliant approval before anything hits the ledger.
  • Contribute to end-to-end revenue completeness, from EDI portal processing through to collections and credit control to keep customer accounts accurate and on track.
  • Take ownership of bank reconciliation, ensuring transactions are matched promptly and unreconciled items are investigated and resolved — not estimated or forced through.

Candidates will be expected to show professional progression through hands-on experience in a similar role

  • Broad experience across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable, ideally in a consumer goods environment
  • The successful candidate will be diligent, detail focused, highly organised, have strong communication skills and be able to maintain accuracy and focus even when under pressure.
  • The role will appeal to a self-starter who takes real ownership of the core operational disciplines and brings a natural curiosity for improving how things are done
