Finance Assistant
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to permanently join a rapidly expanding financial services organisation in London. This role is perfect for someone eager to develop their career within a supportive and high-growth environment, where your attention to detail and willingness to learn will be highly valued.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting the day-to-day running of the finance function. Your responsibilities will span processing supplier invoices and managing payment runs through to raising client invoices and reconciling payments. You will be involved in weekly bank reconciliations as well as monitoring company card usage. Month-end support will see you preparing journals, handling prepayments and accruals, while also assisting with payroll data preparation via PayFit.
Candidate Profile:
- 1 to 3 years in AP, AR or finance assistant roles, ideally in financial services, payments or fintech, or in a multi-entity business.
- Hands-on with bank recs, payment runs and some payroll would be preferable.
- Studying AAT, ACCA or ACA, or keen to start.
- Comfortable with Excel and analysis, and willing to take on supplier analysis.
- London based and available to start within 1 month.

What You'll Do:
- Process supplier invoices efficiently and manage weekly payment runs to ensure timely settlements.
- Raise client invoices accurately, reconcile incoming payments, and monitor outstanding balances to maintain healthy cash flow.
- Perform weekly bank reconciliations, monitor account balances diligently, and manage company cards with precision.
- Support month-end activities by preparing journals, handling reconciliations, managing prepayments and accruals for accurate reporting.
- Prepare payroll data meticulously and assist with submissions using PayFit to guarantee smooth payroll cycles.
- Contribute to budget versus actual reports, internal business analysis, and detailed expense reporting for informed decision-making.
- Monitor the finance inbox daily, responding promptly to queries from both internal teams and external partners.
- Assist external audits by preparing schedules, supporting reconciliations, and ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.
- Maintain the fixed asset register consistently and post depreciation entries as required for compliance purposes.
- Support intercompany reconciliations and recharges while suggesting process improvements that enhance scalable finance operations.
