Do you always have twelve tabs open and know exactly where everything is?
If so, this could be the role for you. Our Finance team keeps a busy facilities maintenance business running smoothly, and we’re looking for a part-time Finance Administrator who is brilliant at admin, happy juggling several things at once and likes getting the details right. You don’t need an accounts background. If you can stay organised when the to-do list grows, we can teach you the rest.
What’s involved?
You’ll join a friendly, supportive Finance team and work closely with our Operations colleagues. The role is mainly sales ledger (accounts receivable) admin, with occasional cover for purchase ledger (accounts payable). Day to day, you’ll:
- Check job details and costs, then raise accurate client invoices on time and submit them by email or client portal
- Match invoice numbers to our job management system and cross-check against client portals, so our work-in-progress reports stay accurate
- Set up new clients on our finance systems
- Chase overdue payments, resolve invoice queries and keep an eye on the Finance inbox
- Provide occasional purchase ledger cover, such as processing supplier invoices and matching them to purchase orders

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
