Financial Accountant – Join Our Growing Finance Team!
Location: Gainsborough, Lincolnshire
Salary: £17,500 to £19,500 per annum (DOE)
Contract Type: Part-time (20-30h per week,) Permanent
We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Finance Associate to support the day-to-day financial operations of our growing business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, this role will focus on maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and supporting the wider finance function.

Your Responsibilities:
- Process purchase invoices, credit notes, and employee expenses in a timely and accurate manner.
- Manage accounts payable, ensuring suppliers are paid within agreed terms and resolving queries when they arise.
- Monitor accounts receivable and perform credit control tasks, including sending reminders and reconciling customer accounts.
- Assist with bank reconciliations and post transactions to the accounting system.
- Maintain financial records and documentation in accordance with company policy and audit requirements.
- Support monthly reporting by preparing reconciliations for AP/AR and assisting in general ledger postings.
- Assist with VAT returns and audit preparation as required.
- Contribute to the improvement of financial processes, helping streamline the AP/AR workflow.

What We’re Looking For:
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Finance, Accounting, or Business (or qualified by experience).
- 2–3 years of experience in a finance or accounts assistant role, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
- Hands-on experience in both accounts payable and receivable functions.
- Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) and strong Excel skills.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive, can-do attitude.
- Ability to manage time effectively, prioritise tasks, and work to deadlines.
- Bonus: Experience with financial process improvement or automation.
