Finance Business Analyst (SAP Finance Transformation)
Location
London (Hybrid, 2 days per week on site)

Initial 3-month contract with strong potential for extension
Rate
£600 per day inside IR35
Reed Talent Solutions have partnered with an iconic public sector organisation who are recruiting an experienced Finance Business Analyst to join a major finance transformation programme supporting the transition from SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA. The successful candidate will play a critical role in documenting, analysing and redesigning finance processes, helping to establish a robust foundation for a future ERP implementation.
Working closely with the Finance ERP Lead, you will support the documentation of over 400 finance business processes, develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), facilitate stakeholder engagement and help define future-state ("To Be") processes that improve efficiency, controls and automation across the finance function.
This role is ideal for candidates with strong business analysis credentials, ERP finance transformation experience and a passion for process improvement within complex organisations.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend and support workshops covering more than 400 identified finance business processes.
- Document end-to-end "As Is" and "To Be" process maps using Visio. (essential)
- Work with stakeholders across Finance, Operational Teams and Shared Services to capture, analyse and validate finance processes.
- Support the Finance ERP Lead in documenting current and future-state finance processes through onsite workshops and stakeholder interviews.
- Develop, document and maintain Finance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), ensuring compliance and ease of use.
- Process map finance and operational activities currently performed outside of SAP, including manual spreadsheet-driven processes.
- Support the documentation and improvement of integrations between operational systems and SAP ECC.
- Capture requirements and produce documentation to support change requests and transformation initiatives.
- Assist with the implementation of specialist solutions including Loans Investment Management and Grants/Funds Management.
- Create User Acceptance Testing (UAT) scripts and support subject matter experts through testing activities for system enhancements and future SAP S/4HANA deployment.
- Work alongside Finance Leads, SAP specialists and FICO consultants to help design and implement future-state processes within SAP.
- Contribute to the wider ERP transformation programme by identifying opportunities for automation, standardisation and process optimisation.

About You
Essential Requirements
- Qualified or certified Business Analyst.
- Proven experience working on ERP finance transformation programmes.
- Strong process mapping experience, including documenting complex end-to-end business processes.
- Experience producing both "As Is" and "To Be" process maps.
- Advanced Visio skills.
- Experience facilitating workshops and engaging stakeholders across finance and operational functions.
- Strong documentation skills, including SOPs, process maps, requirements gathering and change documentation.
- Experience supporting User Acceptance Testing, including test script creation and execution.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Desirable Experience
- Experience within SAP ECC (R3) and/or SAP S/4HANA environments.
- Knowledge of Signavio process mapping tools.
- Experience within Finance workstreams, particularly Record-to-Report (R2R).
- Experience working alongside SAP FICO consultants.
- Public sector experience.
- Exposure to grants management, funds management or loan investment processes.
- Finance qualification or previous finance function experience.
