Role Title: Finance Business Partner
Location: Leeds (Hybrid – 2 days per week on site)
Contract: Permanent
Working Pattern: Full Time
We are seeking a commercially driven Finance Business Partner to support strategic decision-making across the organisation. Working closely with senior leadership, you will provide insight-led analysis, challenge assumptions, evaluate opportunities, and help shape the financial direction of the business. This is a high-impact position requiring a combination of technical excellence, commercial acumen, and outstanding stakeholder management skills.
You'll be at the heart of decision-making, partnering with Executive Directors and senior leaders across the organisation to drive performance, challenge thinking, and influence strategy. Using data-driven insight and commercial judgement, you'll help shape key decisions, ensuring financial implications, risks, and opportunities are fully understood and assumptions are robustly tested. Acting as the go-to expert for financial planning and analysis, you'll shape multi-year forecasts, optimise operational spend, and proactively support strategic initiatives, anticipating risks and opportunities rather than simply reporting on performance. This role offers real variety, significant exposure to senior leadership, and the opportunity to make a tangible impact across the organisation.
You don't need to have held a Finance Business Partner role before, but you do need the commercial mindset, analytical capability, and ambition to succeed in a strategic, business-facing finance role.
Main Responsibilities
- Partner with Executive Directors and senior stakeholders to provide insightful financial analysis, challenge assumptions, and support strategic decision-making.
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes, ensuring robust financial visibility and alignment to business objectives.
- Deliver high-quality financial modelling, scenario analysis, and business cases to support investment decisions, commercial opportunities, and strategic initiatives.
- Identify and communicate key risks, opportunities, and performance drivers, providing actionable recommendations to enhance business outcomes.
- Drive continuous improvement across FP&A processes, reporting, and performance management, helping to strengthen financial controls and decision support capabilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
