Finance Business Partner Newcastle upon Tyne | Permanent | Competitive Salary + Benefits

Are you a commercially focused Finance Business Partner looking for an opportunity to make a real impact within a prestigious and highly successful organisation?

We are recruiting on behalf of a leading and well-respected business for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their team in Newcastle. This is a highly operational, insight-led role where you will work closely with senior leadership and operational teams, providing meaningful financial analysis and challenge to drive profitability, operational performance, and business growth.

The Role

As Finance Business Partner, you will play a pivotal role in supporting regional and operational leaders by delivering data-driven insights that improve financial performance and enhance business outcomes.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as a trusted finance business partner to operational leaders, translating complex financial data into actionable insights.
  • Reviewing key trading and performance metrics, identifying trends and opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Monitoring operational forecasting and performance against budget, highlighting variances and supporting management in understanding underlying drivers.
  • Supporting workforce planning and payroll forecasting, ensuring budgets are effectively managed and challenged where required.
  • Monitoring expenditure across multiple business areas, identifying trends and working collaboratively with stakeholders to drive efficiencies.
  • Working closely with operational teams to manage and control key cost lines, ensuring robust financial planning and budgetary control.
  • Providing critical analysis and challenge on business cases and assessments.
  • Investigating financial anomalies and cost fluctuations, identifying root causes and supporting accurate forecasting.
  • Developing KPI reporting, benchmarking and performance dashboards to support business decision-making.
  • Delivering monthly performance analysis and insight reports for senior stakeholders.
  • Creating and maintaining rolling forecasts for key operational cost areas, incorporating trading trends and operational intelligence.
  • Supporting the annual budgeting process, providing challenge, analysis and recommendations to ensure realistic and achievable targets.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across finance, operations and commercial teams to improve financial visibility and business performance.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will be a commercially aware finance professional who thrives on partnering with operational teams and influencing business performance.

You will have:

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA).
  • Strong financial analysis and business partnering experience.
  • Previous experience supporting complex, multi-site operations with multiple income streams.
  • Proven experience in budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing abilities.
  • Confidence to challenge constructively and drive accountability.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking capabilities.
  • The ability to connect operational performance with financial outcomes.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using Power BI.
  • Flexibility to undertake occasional travel when required.
