Finance Business Partner - 12 Months Fixed Term Contract

Are you a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys influencing decision-making, building strong stakeholder relationships and providing valuable insight that drives business performance?

THE ORGANISATION

Our client is a large and highly respected organisation operating across multiple locations throughout Scotland. With a diverse portfolio of activity and ambitious strategic objectives, they are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join their finance team on a fixed-term basis and support key operational leaders across the business.

THE ROLE

This is a highly visible business partnering role where you will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing meaningful financial analysis, commercial insight and robust challenge to support strategic and operational decision-making. You will play a key role in financial planning, performance management and continuous improvement across the organisation.

  • Partner with senior managers and budget holders, providing financial guidance, support and challenge.
  • Deliver accurate and insightful monthly management reporting and financial analysis.
  • Lead and support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
  • Analyse financial performance, identifying risks, opportunities and key trends.
  • Produce financial models, scenario analysis and business cases to support decision-making.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear and actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support the financial management of funded projects and other business initiatives.
  • Drive improvements to financial processes, reporting and controls.
  • Contribute to year-end reporting and broader finance team objectives.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

  • Qualified accountant (or actively working towards qualification) with relevant commercial finance experience.
  • Proven experience in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
  • Strong business partnering experience with the ability to influence and support senior stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to present financial information clearly to non-finance audiences.
  • Commercially focused with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial systems.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience operating within a complex organisation would be advantageous.
