Role Overview
This role reports into the Senior Finance Business Partner and would suit a part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA) or recently qualified finance professional. This is an excellent opportunity for an analytically minded finance professional looking to develop their business partnering skills.
As Finance Business Partner in Operations, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior operational leaders across areas such as Terminal Operations, Airside Operations, Security, Passenger Services, Baggage, Engineering, Asset Management, and Operational Planning. Working in a dynamic and complex operational environment, you will translate operational data into actionable financial insights to improve productivity, cost efficiency, resilience, and passenger experience. Your work will influence key business outcomes and help Heathrow remain a world-class hub.
The role of the Finance Business Partner is to provide support in various activities such as:
- Periodic Reporting: Month-end and Year-end, Commercial KPI’s
- Short-term Planning: Budgeting and Forecasting
- Longer-term planning: Regulatory Planning Process, Capital Planning
Responsibilities
- Collaborating with our Finance Services Delivery Team to ensure the production of accurate monthly financial performance and help communicate this to the business.
- Producing accurate monthly management accounts, review packs, and insightful commentary to support business performance.
- Support in the annual business planning process for your area, engaging with stakeholders to validate assumptions and agree on initiatives.
- Partnering with senior managers to provide financial insight and constructive challenge on strategic projects.
- Supporting the preparation of business cases, including financial modelling, scenario analysis, and presentation of recommendations.
- Monitoring financial performance against budget and KPIs, identifying risks and opportunities, and recommending mitigation strategies.
- Supporting Capital programmes with investment appraisal & financial assurance activities.

Qualifications
- Part or fully qualified Accountant - CIMA, ACCA, ACA
- Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting within a complex organisation.
- Strong finance acumen with analytical mindset and the ability to spot data linkages, errors and opportunities. Ability to create financial models and present volumes of data clearly and concisely.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to build strong relationships and influence at all levels of the organisation.
- Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Strong Excel analysis and modelling skills with experience in creating professional and engaging PowerPoint slide decks
Ideally, you'll also have:
- Experience in business partnering within a commercial or FP&A environment.
- Familiarity with Oracle ERP or similar financial systems.

Working Location
Our Hybrid working approach offers the opportunity for colleagues in some roles to work from home for an average of two days a week, providing the flexibility to work in an agile way whilst ensuring we deliver for the operational needs of Heathrow. Working arrangements vary from team to team and will be confirmed during the recruitment process. You’ll need to be based in the UK and within a commutable distance to Heathrow.
