Hays Senior Finance are working with a growing multi-site retail business who are recruiting a commercially minded, qualified accountant to join their retail team as a Finance Business Partner / Commercial Analyst. In this role, you will bridge the gap between financial data and strategic operations, driving profitability through analytics, pricing strategies, and promotional evaluations.
About The Role
- Core Purpose: Translate complex financial datasets into actionable commercial strategies for retail operations.
- Impact: Directly influence revenue by optimising pricing structures and measuring promotional ROI.
- Collaboration: Partner closely with regional managers, marketing teams, and senior executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Partnering: Deliver financial insights to non-finance stakeholders to improve site performance.
- Commercial Analysis: Evaluate pricing elasticity and the performance of marketing promotions.
- Management Accounting: Oversee month-end reporting, variance analysis, and multi-site cost controls.
- Data & Reporting: Build and maintain interactive dashboards to track key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead the financial planning cycles for retail store networks.

What We Are Looking For
- Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, or CIMA
- Background: Proven track record in management accounting, ideally within a multi-site retail, hospitality, or consumer goods environment.
- Technical Skills: Advanced Excel capabilities (vlookups, index/match, macros) or proficiency in Power BI for data visualisation.
- Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated as a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Accountant or Commercial Analyst with experience of optimising margins. Specific exposure to pricing and promotional analysis is a strong advantage.
- Communication: Ability to present financial data clearly to cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
