We are delighted to be retained and working in partnership with Cala as they look to appoint an experienced Finance Business Partner.

Cala is one of the UK’s leading premium housebuilders, recognised for creating high‑quality, design‑led communities across Scotland and England. With roots dating back to 1875, the business has grown into a major player in the sector, delivering thousands of homes each year while maintaining a consistent five‑star customer satisfaction rating. They continue to shape some of the country’s most desirable neighbourhoods, combining modern living with strong architectural standards and a customer‑first approach.

Reporting to the Regional Finance Director, this is a multi-faceted role incorporating a blend of accounting, commercial decision support and key stakeholder management.

Key areas of focus will include:

  • Production of monthly regional management accounts including journal postings, accruals, cost of sales, cash flow, variance analysis, and associated commentary.
  • Adherence of financial processes and procedures per the needs of the business, delivering a continuous improvement approach.
  • Deliver financially orientated financial input at key regional meetings, business partnering with various other departments.
  • Ensure a culture of commercial awareness is promoted and maintained across the company through effective business support.
  • Liaise with non‐finance internal stakeholders and provide high quality MI, budgetary support and key financial analysis.
  • Review and approve weekly cash flow reports and supplier payment runs.
  • Check and approve regional monthly reconciliations and controls.
  • Ensure all balance sheet controls are in place and a monthly control file is maintained.
  • Provide a year‐end pack to Group for statutory accounts consolidation and liaise with external auditors regarding any accounting queries.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations including VAT, SDLT and relevant accounting standards.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to Regional Finance Director as required, including assistance with annual budgeting.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
