A well-established professional services business is looking to appoint a Finance Business Partner to join its central finance team.

Working closely with senior stakeholders and fee-earning teams, this role will provide commercial financial insight across budgeting, forecasting, pricing, profitability, WIP, billing and cash conversion.

The position would suit a qualified accountant who enjoys working closely with the business, can challenge stakeholders constructively and is comfortable operating in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Business partner with senior stakeholders, department heads and fee earners
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and monthly performance analysis
  • Provide commercial insight around revenue, profitability, pricing and cash conversion
  • Maintain and improve WIP, pipeline and invoicing schedules
  • Support pricing and profitability analysis for new and existing work
  • Challenge forecast assumptions and identify commercial risks and opportunities
  • Support month-end billing and ensure reporting is accurate and timely
  • Produce financial analysis for senior management and ad hoc business projects
  • Help improve financial understanding across the business through clear communication and practical guidance
  • Support process improvement and wider finance transformation initiatives
  • Assist with year-end WIP calculations and audit requirements
  • Contribute to the continued development of reporting and business intelligence tools

  • Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA
  • Minimum c.1 year PQE
  • Previous Finance Business Partnering or commercially focused Management Accounting experience
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis skills
  • Confident stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Able to turn financial information into clear commercial insight
  • Comfortable working with WIP, billing, pricing and profitability
  • Proactive, hands-on and improvement-focused
  • Professional services or property experience would be advantageous
  • Advanced Excel skills preferred
  • Experience with Oracle NetSuite, Qlik or systems implementation would be useful but is not essential
