MCS Group is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of a major organisation in Northern Ireland for a Finance Business Partner. The role offers a competitive salary and the chance to work with one of Northern Ireland's top employers.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded qualified accountant to join a high-performing finance team, partnering with senior operational leaders to provide financial insight, influence strategic decision-making, and drive continuous business improvement across a key operational division.
The Role
Reporting to the Head of Group Finance, the Finance Business Partner will provide commercial and financial support to senior stakeholders while contributing to strategic planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with senior operational management to provide financial and commercial insight.
- Leading the budgeting, forecasting, and monthly management reporting process for Bus Operations.
- Supporting revenue generation, cost reduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Preparing profitability reporting for bus routes and non-core business activities.
- Providing financial analysis to support operational and commercial decision-making.
- Supporting corporate planning, budgetary control, and financial performance monitoring.
- Working collaboratively with operational, commercial, and project teams to improve business performance.

The Person
Applicants must demonstrate:
Essential Criteria
- Previous experience of finance business partnering in a commercial/industry role.
- Experience of implementing cost reduction plans and/or improving profitability.
- Qualified accountant with membership of CCAB or equivalent, with 3 years' post-qualification industry/commercial experience.
- Analytical and logical thinking skills.
- Experience of utilising an integrated financial software package.
- Ability to deal with a wide variety of people, both internally and externally, and work effectively as part of a team.
- Experience of working at pace with a variety of stakeholders and with minimal supervision.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to use financial analysis to drive business performance.
Desirable Criteria
- Project Management qualification.
- Previous experience of project management, including planning and delivering programmes within budget and timescales.
