Job Description
Service Care Solutions are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in East Suffolk for a Finance Business Partner to join the team on a temporary basis. The postholder will lead the financial management of allocated service areas, providing expert advice and support to Service Managers and Senior Management. You will support the delivery of the MTFS, annual budgets prep and monitoring, year-end reporting and Statement of Accounts, while ensuring compliance with statutory financial requirements, legislation and policies.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and monitoring, and year-end outturn across allocated services.
- Provide clear, expert financial advice and challenge to managers, senior officers and members.
- Support strategic projects and partnerships with financial analysis, business cases and funding advice.
- Ensure robust financial governance, compliance, reporting and risk management.
Candidate Criteria
- Qualified accountant or significant relevant experience in a local authority or public sector environment.
- Strong financial management expertise, including budgeting, forecasting, modelling, budgetary control, investment appraisal, and business case evaluation.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain complex financial matters clearly, and build strong relationships.
- Strategic, analytic and proactive, with ability to manage competing priorities, identify risks and opportunities, and support continuous improvement.
