Finance Business Partner
Main Purpose
To deliver a complete financial management service to specified Directorates within the organisation and play a key role in the overall financial management of the organisation.
To support the strategic financial management of the organisation through the provision of financial leadership to senior leadership teams; responsible for the financial governance of specified Directorates, ensuring financial regularity, compliance and value-for-money within a framework of excellent customer service and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Management & Business Partnering
- Provide a comprehensive financial management service to designated Directorates.
- Provide financial leadership, advice and challenge to senior management to support effective decision-making and value for money.
- Act as a key custodian of Directorate budgets, working closely with budget holders to manage budgets and savings targets.
- Provide monthly financial reporting, variance analysis, forecasting, scenario planning and service costing.
- Produce accurate year-end forecasts and develop strategies to manage financial risks and achieve financial targets.
- Analyse financial data and provide clear management information to support strategic and operational decision-making.
- Provide specialist financial advice and guidance to senior management and Directorates.
- Support procurement activities and liaise with the Procurement function.
- Promote financial awareness and best practice across Directorates

Business Planning & Strategy
- Support the development of Directorate business plans and organisational financial strategies.
- Contribute to the annual budget-setting process and provide guidance to relevant business areas.
- Ensure financial plans align with wider organisational priorities and strategic objectives.
- Provide financial expertise and advice on organisational change projects and policy initiatives.
- Support the development of long-term financial strategies, budgets and financial projections.
- Provide specialist financial input into business cases and option appraisals.
- Assess the financial impact of operational decisions and provide recommendations to senior leadership.
- Support post-project evaluations, particularly in relation to financial performance.
Person Specification
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Fully qualified accountant and full member of one of the following professional bodies: ACCA, CIPFA, CIMA, Chartered Accountants Ireland, ICAS, ICAEW and Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland OR
- Minimum 2 years' relevant experience providing a comprehensive management accounting and analysis service to senior management.

- Strong experience analysing, interpreting and presenting financial information to support strategic decision-making, financial management, performance management and/or process improvement.
- Experience providing financial advice and challenge to senior stakeholders.
- Experience working with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Experience supporting business cases, financial strategies and organisational change.
