About the Company

We're looking for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner who enjoys partnering with operational leaders, turning financial data into actionable insight, and influencing business decisions. This is a highly visible role where you'll support profitability, strengthen financial governance, and provide the analysis needed to drive growth and operational excellence. This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham or Gloucester.

About the Role

As a key finance business partner, you'll work closely with operational and commercial stakeholders to deliver accurate reporting, meaningful analysis, and strategic financial support across a diverse portfolio of projects and contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and present monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyse project, contract, and business performance, identifying opportunities to improve profitability.
  • Deliver insightful reporting on revenue, margins, costs, and operational KPIs.
  • Identify financial risks and opportunities and support the implementation of improvement plans.
  • Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
  • Provide clear financial commentary and recommendations to senior stakeholders.
  • Drive financial accountability by translating financial results into clear business insights.
  • Support working capital management through effective control of WIP, revenue recognition, billing, and cash collection.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across finance processes and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Part-qualified or fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in a Management Accountant role.
  • Strong commercial acumen and understanding of business performance drivers.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to convert data into actionable insights.
  • Experience working within a fast-paced or changing environment.
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using finance systems such as SAP, Maximo, Coupa, or similar.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
