Finance Business Partner / Qualified Accountant
Location: Cardiff (Hybrid – 3 days per week in the office)
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 (Negotiable depending on depth of experience)
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
The Opportunity
Greystone Consulting Group is delighted to be partnering with a successful and growing organisation based in Cardiff to recruit a Finance Business Partner / Qualified Accountant. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified finance professional (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) who enjoys combining hands-on financial management with commercial insight and business partnering. Reporting into the Finance Director, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing the day-to-day finance function while helping shape the company's financial planning and strategic decision-making.
The successful candidate will be equally comfortable producing accurate financial information, improving finance processes and providing meaningful analysis to support business growth. The business offers a collaborative culture, hybrid working (3 days per week in the Cardiff office) and genuine opportunities to influence the future direction of the finance function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Produce monthly management accounts, providing insightful commentary on financial performance.
- Review and reconcile balance sheet accounts, ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial records.
- Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns.
- Perform weekly cashflow analysis, identifying risks and opportunities and escalating issues where appropriate.
- Process Monthly Payroll.
- Prepare and post month-end journals.
- Manage Subscription Reconciliations.
- Manage cash payments for and cash refunds service.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts across the group.
- Raise and manage sales invoices.
- Maintain and reconcile direct debit and card payment accounts.
- Support finance testing and implementation of new products.
- Establish and maintain robust financial controls for new products and processes.
- Produce monthly management reports and dashboards for key business stakeholders.
- Support the budgeting and forecasting process
- Partner with the Finance Director on strategic projects, providing financial analysis and decision support.
- Lead the annual audit process, acting as the primary contact for external auditors.
- Assist with year-end P11D preparation and compliance.
- Support the preparation of R&D tax relief claims.

About You
We're looking for an ambitious finance professional who enjoys adding value beyond the numbers and can communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
Essential
- Fully qualified ACCA, CIMA or ACA.
- Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner, Management Accountant or similar senior finance position.
- Strong experience preparing monthly management accounts.
- Experience leading budgeting and forecasting cycles.
- Financial planning and analysis (FP&A) experience.
- Excellent analytical and commercial skills.
- Strong reconciliation, reporting and financial controls experience.
- Payroll oversight experience.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.

Desirable
- Previous experience managing or mentoring a finance team.
- Experience implementing process improvements or finance systems.
- Experience using ERP or accounting software such as Sage, Xero, Dynamics 365, SAP, Oracle or NetSuite.
- Experience within a fast-paced commercial environment.
