Role Overview

My client, a leading European retail organisation, are looking to hire a commercially savvy Finance Business Partner to join their stunning offices in Runcorn. A leading healthcare distribution organisation is seeking a Finance Business Partner to join their commercial finance team in Runcorn.

This role offers you the opportunity to work closely with internal and external stakeholders, providing essential financial, analytical, and business support to drive sound decision-making and profitable growth.

You will be at the heart of strategic projects, process improvements, and investment appraisals, ensuring that your expertise shapes the future direction of the business.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver commercial insight and analytical support for projects, process changes, and investment appraisals including post-investment reviews by collaborating with cross-functional teams.
  • Analyse investment opportunities and provide accounting data throughout project lifecycles, acquisitions, and transitions into business as usual while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Challenge and support the Management Team on business performance issues by conducting root cause analysis and offering guidance on corrective actions in a constructive manner.
  • Develop and utilise management information systems to evaluate current business performance, drive improved profitability, and inform strategic decisions across the organisation.
  • Support rollout and usage of self-serve tools in agreed business areas by partnering with key stakeholders to enhance efficiency and accessibility of financial data.
  • Lead budgeting and forecasting processes for assigned business areas in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders to ensure alignment with organisational objectives.
  • Monitor market developments and assess their potential impact on operations by providing timely updates and actionable insights to inform business planning.
  • Identify emerging trends in revenue, margin, and cost for designated areas of the business by quantifying their impact on profit and cash flow through detailed analysis.
  • Produce ad hoc management information reports tailored to support business decision-making needs as required by various departments.
  • Undertake other tasks as needed, contributing flexibly to team goals while supporting organisational priorities.

What you bring:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification is essential for demonstrating your technical expertise in accounting standards and practices.
  • Relevant post-qualification experience in financial analysis and decision support gained through commercial roles across industry sectors is required.
  • Proven ability to propose, justify, initiate, and implement change at all levels within an organisation while maintaining excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience building sound business cases that align with organisational objectives is highly valued.
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in high-pressure environments without compromising quality or accuracy is crucial.
  • Demonstrated skill in performing root cause analysis as well as developing process improvements and robust controls enhances your suitability for this position.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are necessary for relationship building; you must be able to challenge constructively while supporting colleagues from different functions.
  • Excellent communication skills-including written reports, verbal presentations, negotiation techniques-are vital for influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (especially Excel) is expected; familiarity with financial systems such as SAP is desirable.
  • Project management experience would be advantageous but not mandatory.
