The Recipe
To lead finance business partnering for the Sales Director and customer facing teams, providing insight, proactive challenge and commercial influence to support sustainable volume, value and profit growth. The role will help shape JBPs, pricing, promotions, trade terms and customer investment decisions, ensuring plans are evidence-led, commercially robust and operationally deliverable.
Key Accountabilities and Measures
- Act as a trusted finance partner and evidence-led challenger to the customer facing teams influencing decisions that support sustainable growth and value creation.
- Develop insightful business cases, proposals and decision papers that support commercially robust customer growth decisions across JBPs, pricing, promotions, trade investment and terms.
- Support revenue growth and margin management through clear analysis of customer and channel profitability, ASP, mix, gross profit, trade spend, cost-to-serve and sustainable margin quality.
- Lead regular performance insight across volume, revenue, ASP, mix, commercial spend and margin drivers, using budget, forecast, IBP and strategic planning cycles to identify risks, opportunities and corrective action early.
- Test customer growth plans against forecast accuracy, operational constraints, and cost-to-serve to ensure commercial plans are deliverable and profitable in practice.
- Ensure robust financial controls, sign-off processes and decision discipline are in place for customer proposals, including clear assumptions, evidence requirements, owners and post-event reviews.
- Lead, motivate, coach and develop the Commercial Finance Customer team, building capability in commercial challenge, business partnering, and decision support.

- Significant post-qualification experience, including commercial finance and revenue growth management exposure.
- Strong commercial understanding of FMCG customer economics, category dynamics, promotional ROI, trade investment, pack-price architecture and customer/channel profitability, and margin management.
- Confident senior stakeholder partner, with the ability to challenge commercial plans constructively and influence customer growth decisions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data clearly and turn insight into practical recommendations.
- Evidence-led decision-making capability, with the ability to balance short-term financial returns with long-term customer, category and Warburtons value.
- Excellent communication skills: influential, articulate, persuasive and able to engage both finance and non-finance audiences.
- Strong relationship builder, able to establish credibility across a broad range of internal and external stakeholders.
- CIMA or equivalent accountancy qualification, with evidence of continued professional development.
- Excellent coach and role model, with experience developing others and building team capability.
