About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our management accounting team. This role will provide operational and strategic financial support, including budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial advice across all service areas.
The post will provide vital support to the Council’s Programme Management Office (PMO), helping to deliver key projects aligned with our organisational priorities.
As a financially well-managed and forward-looking organisation, we are looking for a confident and capable finance professional who is committed to continuous improvement and able to play a key role within a busy, supportive finance team.
Key Responsibilities
- Working closely with the Senior Finance Business Partner, service leads, and budget holders.
- Providing trusted financial advice to support effective decision-making.
- Supporting budget monitoring, forecasting, and financial planning.
- Analysing complex financial information and presenting clear, practical recommendations.
- Helping to ensure that resources are used effectively and aligned with organisational priorities.

Requirements
The successful candidate will bring:
- Strong financial management experience.
- Excellent analytical skills.
- The ability to communicate clearly with a range of stakeholders.
- An accountancy qualification or equivalent experience and knowledge in local government finance.
- Commitment to high professional standards, equality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Working Conditions
The Council operates a hybrid working system where employees may work up to three days per week from home.

- Position: Permanent, full-time basis of 36 hours per week.
