Overview

Finance Business Partner

Humdinger, Sherburn-in-Elmet, North Yorkshire

Are you a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys being close to operations, influencing decisions and driving real business performance?

Finance doesn't sit on the sidelines at Humdinger - this is an opportunity to become a key member of the site leadership team at one of Zertus UK&I's growing manufacturing locations, using financial insight to influence decisions, improve performance across the factory and help shape the future direction of the site.

Position Type: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Humdinger, Sherburn-in-Elmet, LS25 with flexible hybrid working

Salary: Up to £55,000 dependent on experience + 10% annual bonus

Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:30 - 16:30

Closing date: 07/09/2026

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Site Director and operational leadership team to improve site performance.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting and performance reporting processes.
  • Analyse labour, material usage, yield, waste, overheads and manufacturing variances.
  • Deliver financial insight that supports operational decision-making.
  • Support capital investment appraisals, ROI analysis and benefits tracking.
  • Improve reporting, dashboards and visibility of operational cost drivers.
  • Strengthen stock governance, inventory reporting and financial controls.
  • Coach and influence non-finance stakeholders to build financial accountability.

Qualifications

We're looking for someone who can bring both strong finance expertise and the ability to influence operational performance. You'll ideally have:

  • Experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally food, drink or other FMCG, with a strong understanding of operational challenges and opportunities.
  • Experience partnering with stakeholders across multiple sites or complex operational functions.
  • Previous experience in a Finance Business Partner, Commercial Finance, Site Finance or Operational Finance role with exposure to senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing KPIs, including labour, yield, waste, productivity, stock and overhead performance.
  • Advanced Excel skills, alongside experience using reporting and business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Qlik or similar.
  • A good understanding of supply chain and operational finance processes.
  • Qualified or part-qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent).

Humdinger’s Sherburn-in-Elmet site is a fast-growing confectionery facility producing over 5,000 tonnes of chocolate and snacking products annually. With advanced technologies including belt coating, button manufacture, drop rolling, and hard panning, the site supports a diverse customer base across retail, third-party, and B2B channels. The site offers a dynamic environment where technical leadership plays a pivotal role in driving quality, compliance, and innovation.
