Company Description:

Infirst Ltd is a growing B2B pharmaceutical company which manufactures and sells Flarin, an innovative painkiller. The company's customers are major supermarket and pharmacy chains, together with online retailers, and the product is widely available to consumers throughout the UK. Many core operations are outsourced and the internal team is just ten skilled individuals. The pharmaceutical industry is highly regulated and the company offers a professional, inclusive environment where each team member is fully responsible for their own area of operations. Turnover is ca. £5m p.a. There is also a holding company, Flarin Holdings Ltd.

Position Details

Maternity Cover – Fixed-term, circa 12 months
Fully remote working with monthly F2F team meetings in Central London
£75,000–£80,000 gross annual salary + 10% employer pension contribution (paid through payroll), plus health and travel insurance.

Reporting into the Managing Director, the Finance Business Partner carries responsibility for the provision of a full financial, accounting, forecasting and management reporting service for the Flarin business and its holding company. The role is supported by a highly capable Accounts Assistant who conducts sales reporting and analysis and processes supplier invoices.

Location:

The role is fully remote working, but attendance is required at monthly F2F team meetings in Central London. There is extensive daily team interaction over email and Teams.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of all financial services for the business including maintenance and operation of all financial ledgers including general ledger, debtor, creditor and fixed asset ledgers accompanied by appropriate controls and reconciliations. Low transaction volume;
  • Maintenance of financial forecasts (integrated P&L, Cash Flow and Balance Sheet), updated frequently by liaison with MD, Director of Sales, Supply Manager and other management as appropriate;
  • Maintains financial control and ensures all accounting complies with appropriate statutes in consultation with external auditors and other advisors;
  • Prepares detailed monthly financial reports for the board;
  • Oversees the work of the Accounts Assistant;
  • Coordinates and controls the reporting of sales, cogs and inventory with third party service providers;
  • Acts as primary operational point of contact with outsourced logistics provider;
  • Oversees operation of third party payroll service;
  • Manages regular stock forecasting process and liaises with Supply Manager to ensure that stock is held to an optimal level;
  • Carries out inter-company charging as required;
  • Prepares financial records for statutory financial reporting and corporation tax returns and liaises with the external accountants;
  • Prepares customer account performance and profitability;
  • Prepares and submits VAT for the group;
  • Prepares other financial reports for regulatory / statutory purposes;
  • Business partnering to the Flarin team including presentation of financial and stock forecast information to regular team meetings;
  • Provides business support to commercial staff including participation on commercial project teams, assisting with the interpretation of financial information, performing ad hoc analyses of expenditures and profitability and evaluating new business propositions;
  • Prepared to undertake ad hoc duties as part of a small team.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Candidates should possess strong Financial Planning and Business Planning skills to support budgets, forecasts, and long-term strategic initiatives.
  • Candidates should possess solid Finance and Financial Reporting skills to produce accurate management accounts, variance analyses, and performance dashboards.
  • Candidates should possess advanced Analytical Skills to interpret complex data, model scenarios, and provide clear, actionable insights to stakeholders.
  • Candidates should possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills to influence non-finance colleagues and build effective partnerships across the business.
  • Candidates should possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a part-time, hybrid working environment.
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA) or equivalent is required.
  • Experience in a senior finance business partnering or commercial finance role is highly beneficial.
  • Experience with modern financial systems such as Sage, Excel modeling, and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI or similar) would be advantageous.
