Role: Finance Business Partner – 12 – 15 Months FTC

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Location: Bedfordshire

Working Model: Hybrid

The Accountancy & Finance Division at The ONE Group is partnering with a recognisable business based in Bedfordshire in recruiting for an Experienced Finance Business Partner for a period of 12 – 15 Months to cover maternity. This is a genuinely commercial role, partnering closely with senior operational stakeholders and providing the financial insight, modelling and challenge needed to support key business decisions and strategic investment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a key Finance Business Partner to senior operational stakeholders, providing commercial insight and constructive financial challenge.
  • Build strong relationships across the business and help stakeholders understand the financial impact of operational and strategic decisions.
  • Deliver financial modelling and commercial analysis to support business performance and decision-making.
  • Develop budgets and forecasts in partnership with operational stakeholders.
  • Work with short and medium-term forecasting cycles, identifying key risks and opportunities.
  • Build robust commercial business cases to support significant business investment and transformation programmes.
  • Analyse the financial implications of different strategic options, including cost, depreciation, return on investment and overall financial viability.
  • Track and report the financial benefits of investments and business initiatives against agreed business cases.
  • Support investment decisions across the organisation, assessing both new opportunities and reinvestment into existing operations.
  • Assess investment costs, expected commercial returns, profitability and resource requirements.
  • Provide detailed financial analysis and reporting to support senior management decision-making.
  • Challenge assumptions and ensure commercial proposals are supported by robust financial analysis.
  • Work closely with the wider Finance team to provide accurate, timely and commercially relevant information.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, reporting and decision-making.

Skills & Experience Required

  • Proven experience in a Finance Business Partner or similarly commercial finance role.
  • Strong business partnering skills with the confidence to work directly with senior operational stakeholders.
  • Experience building financial models and commercial business cases.
  • Strong budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis experience.
  • Experience assessing investment opportunities and their potential financial returns.
  • Ability to turn complex financial information into clear, actionable commercial insight.
  • Commercial mindset with the confidence to challenge assumptions and influence decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and work to demanding deadlines.
  • Advanced Excel skills, including PivotTables, lookups and complex formulas.
  • ACCA, CIMA or ACA part-qualified as a minimum, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of projects and workload.

Desirable

  • Experience partnering with senior operational teams.
  • Previous involvement in strategic investment or transformation programmes.
  • Experience producing investment appraisals and commercial business cases.
  • Exposure to asset-related financial modelling and depreciation.
  • Experience working within a large, complex or fast-paced organisation.
