🧮 Finance Business Partner

📍 East Sussex

💷 £60,000 - £70,000

🏡 4 days per week in the office

We at Alexander Lloyd are proud to be partnering exclusively with a fast growing, PE backed organisation on a key hire into their finance team.

The Role:

This is a broad, hands on business partnering role for someone who wants to be genuinely close to the commercial side of a growing business. You will work with budget holders across the business, bring evidence and analysis to the decisions they are making, and translate detailed financial data into insight that non finance people can actually act on.

There is a real build element too. The business is scaling and the reporting and planning infrastructure needs to scale with it, so you will have the opportunity to shape how performance is tracked, improve the models and tools finance relies on, and put in foundations that last rather than firefighting month to month.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the dedicated finance partner to key areas of the business, building credibility through consistency, reliability and a genuine interest in what they are trying to achieve
  • Attend the key planning and performance review forums, providing proactive financial challenge and support on commercial and investment decisions
  • Produce regular margin and performance analysis against plan, identifying the key drivers, variances and emerging risks
  • Support cost analysis across the business, including product and operational cost, and support negotiations and procurement decisions with rigorous modelling and scenario analysis
  • Help build and develop the MI suite, tracking performance and driving accountability through it
  • Lead cost input into the budget and reforecast cycles, building credible bottom up plans with the teams that own the numbers
  • Own key elements of the rolling forecast, keeping assumptions current, well reasoned and clearly documented
  • Build and maintain financial models that support scenario planning, particularly around cost volatility and FX exposure
  • Support capex appraisal and tracking, including business cases, post investment reviews and benefit realisation
  • Improve how cost and performance are tracked and understood across the business, developing scalable, repeatable finance tools and templates
  • Work closely with the wider finance team to keep data integrity and consistency between operational and central reporting

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
