About your role
The purpose of this position is: To business partner with the sales team to develop the channel through effective management of trade investment, performance evaluation, promotional effectiveness, and Joint Business Planning, ensuring execution of plans and strong understanding of brand and channel performance.
What You'll Do
- Provide effective business partnering support using insight and analysis for decision-making to the Head of Channel, Channel Controllers and their teams to deliver commercial targets.
- Partner with Sales Teams on commercial forecasting and performance review processes to drive accurate forecasts and support excellent commercial plans.
- Ensure alignment and understanding among Sales Teams of key performance drivers and commercial targets.
- Communicate performance and issues clearly and consistently to key stakeholders.
- Operate as part of the multi-functional Channel Sales Team by providing support and challenge to drive performance.
- Embed best practice trade spend management across Sales Teams.
- Ensure adherence to revenue management and control policies to optimize pricing, customer mix, and efficient management of customer discounts (trade funds).
- Support key commercial plans executed by Sales Team with sound financial appraisal, including Joint Business Planning agreements and promotions.
- Identify training needs within Sales Teams and develop a strong, self-serving sales team.
- Responsible for month-end close, adhering to policies and controls.
- Balancing short-term performance management with long-term channel development strategy.
- Managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships to ensure plan execution and alignment.
- Ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial forecasting and reporting under pressure.
- Challenging Sales Teams constructively while maintaining strong working relationships.
- Navigating complex trade funds management and compliance with international accounting standards.
- Adapting to significant business changes and prioritizing effectively.

What You need to be successful
Essential
- Qualified accountant with proven financial acumen
- Proven experience as a Finance Business Partner
- Experience in a fast-paced FMCG commercial finance environment, especially sales channels and customer hierarchies
- Strong understanding of trade funds management
- Proficiency in SAP/BI systems
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with sales teams
- Ability to challenge constructively with assertiveness and tact
- Resilience under pressure and effective prioritization skills
- Strong excel skills – lookups, pivots, slicers

Desirable
- Experience working within or leading cross-functional teams and projects
- Knowledge of International Accounting Standards for revenue reporting
