We’re looking for a fully qualified Finance Business Partner (Accountant) to join our team in Portsmouth!

This is a full time, permanent role working 37 hours per week. We offer a flexible approach to working between home and our Portsmouth office, with a minimum of 20% of this to be office based to promote collaboration and team working.

Here’s The Facts About The Role

In this role, you'll partner with key areas of the business, providing high-quality financial insight, guidance and support to managers, budget holders and Heads of Service. You'll take ownership of monthly management accounts, forecasts, budgets and financial reporting, helping operational teams understand performance and make informed decisions.

Reporting to a Senior Accountant, you’ll support them in the production of monthly accounts packs, KPI data and variance analysis. You’ll be responsible for analysing actual performance against budget, investigate variances, coordinate forecasting and budgeting activities, and produce meaningful management information including KPI reporting and monthly accounts packs.

As a trusted finance partner, you'll build strong relationships across the business, confidently challenge and influence where appropriate, and provide clear, practical financial advice in a complex and evolving environment to support effective business performance.

You'll be a fully qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CIOT or equivalent) with an Accounting degree, AAT/ATT qualification or similar and a commitment to ongoing professional development. You'll have experience in an accounting, management accounting or business partnering role, with experience of balance sheet reconciliations, payroll accounting, budget setting and budget reviews.

A strong understanding of current accounting standards is essential, along with experience of working in a complex and evolving organisation. You'll be an effective communicator who can build positive relationships across the business, produce clear and accurate reports, confidently challenge and influence stakeholders, and support continuous improvement.
