The Vacancy
Finance that actually influences decisions, that's what this role is about. As a Finance Business Partner at ASK4, you'll sit at the intersection of commercial strategy and financial insight, working closely with stakeholders across the business to shape how performance is understood and how value is driven.
About the Role
Reporting to the Commercial Finance Director, you'll take the lead on business partnering activities linked to revenue and gross profit across our Managed Internet product set. From orderbook management and KPI development to budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, you'll own a broad and genuinely impactful remit.
This isn't a back-office finance role. You'll be working with senior stakeholders across the business, building financial models that support strategic decisions, and helping the business understand not just what has happened, but what it means and what comes next.
This is a hybrid role based in Sheffield 2 days per week.
What You'll Be Doing
- Own the orderbook: track, report, assess and project its financial impact, and optimise the value derived from it
- Lead monthly variance analysis of trading performance against projections, with forward-looking risk and opportunity assessment
- Own budgeting and forecasting of revenues and gross profit, accounting for orderbook delivery, churn, re-contracting, indexation and more
- Develop and maintain a commercial data cube to surface insight into commercial activities and returns
- Lead business partnering activities linked to the Telco strategy and other cost-to-serve initiatives, including business casing and tracking
- Build and maintain financial projections covering revenue-generating activity and its impact on working capital and capex
- Develop KPIs for the existing estate and orderbook, improving reporting accuracy and timeliness through process improvement
- Develop and maintain Anaplan software to support financial planning and analysis

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
