Job Title: Finance Business Partner – Breaking Wave

Location: London

Corporate Title: Associate / AVP


Breaking Wave Deutsche Bank Limited is Corporate Bank’s (CB) technology incubation and commercialisation entity, responsible for developing and scaling innovative technology within Deutsche Bank Group. Its flagship business, Synthix, part of Corporate Cash Management, is a high-growth SaaS and fintech platform that delivers workflow, analytics, AI and treasury solutions to corporate clients.


You will play a key role in the operation and growth of one of Deutsche Bank’s most innovative technology ventures while partnering with senior stakeholders across Finance, Product, Technology and Business leadership.

Your key responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted Finance partner to the Breaking Wave and Corporate Bank leadership teams, providing financial insight, challenge and decision support to drive growth, investment prioritisation and commercial outcomes
  • Support business strategy through ownership of financial planning, forecasting, performance analysis and management reporting
  • Partner with stakeholders across Product, Technology, Operations and Business teams to evaluate strategic initiatives, new products, commercial opportunities and expansion into new markets and jurisdictions
  • Own the client pricing framework and oversee key business operations, including client billing, vendor expenditure, purchase orders, cash management and outsourced finance activities
  • Strengthen and operate a robust governance and control framework, including financial controls, management reporting and business oversight processes, ensuring compliance with Deutsche Bank policies and regulatory requirements
  • Support statutory reporting, audit, tax, legal entity governance and finance transformation initiatives, while driving process improvement

Your skills and experience

  • Proven experience in reporting, financial control, audit or business management
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate financial information into clear commercial insights
  • Proven ability to take ownership, work independently and deliver high-quality outcomes in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively across finance, business and technology teams
  • Genuine curiosity about technology, software products and innovation, with an enthusiasm for working in a growing technology-focused business
  • A proactive, growth-oriented mindset with willingness to learn, support existing processes and continuously develop new skills
  • Proven ability to leverage AI tools to enhance productivity, optimise workflows to solve business problems, while applying critical judgment to ensure responsible and ethical use of data and AI outputs
