We're hiring: Finance Business Partner — Commercial & Cost Control
Do you love digging into the numbers behind the numbers?
We're looking for a Finance Business Partner to join our Group Finance team at our Essex HQ, reporting to the Group Finance Director.
This isn't a back-office reporting role. You'll own variance analysis and forecasting that feeds straight into the monthly board pack, embed yourself as a genuine thinking partner to our Retail division (with a focus on our growing Showroom and Contract teams), and support forecasting across Wholesale and Logistics.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits
No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.
You'll also take direct ownership of cost control across our outbound logistics operation — focusing on outbound logistics expenditure, recovering incorrect charges, and bringing real rigor to one of the most material and controllable cost lines in the business.
What you'll bring:
- Commercial finance, FP&A, or business partnering experience
- Strong Excel/financial modelling skills — comfortable building forecasts from scratch
- A sharp eye for auditing and challenging cost data, not just reviewing summaries
- Confidence presenting financial insight to non-finance stakeholders
- Comfort juggling multiple divisions and shifting priorities
- Part-qualified/qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) desirable — strong QBEs welcome too
