An Exciting Opportunity for a Finance Business Partner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a commercially minded Finance Business Partner to join and play a pivotal role in a large-scale digital transformation programme within a global, private equity-backed organisation.

Working directly with the CFO and partnering closely with the CIO and senior technology leadership team, this is a high-profile position that sits at the heart of a business-wide transformation agenda. Over the next 12-18 months, the organisation will be carving out and implementing a standalone technology landscape, creating a unique opportunity to influence strategic investment decisions, major technology programmes, vendor negotiations, and operating model design.

This role is ideally suited to a finance professional who understands both the numbers and the technology, and who is comfortable engaging with architects, engineering teams, procurement, operations, and executive stakeholders across a global business.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Act as the strategic finance lead for the Digital and Technology function, partnering closely with the CIO and wider leadership team.
  • Support a major transformation programme involving the separation and creation of a standalone technology environment.
  • Provide financial oversight across a complex technology estate consisting of 1,000+ applications, cloud infrastructure, software licensing, digital programmes, and vendor relationships.
  • Lead budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, scenario modelling, and investment appraisal activities for the technology function.
  • Develop business cases and ROI models for strategic technology investments and transformation initiatives.
  • Drive financial governance across technology spend, including Capex, Opex, cloud costs, infrastructure, software, and programme expenditure.
  • Partner with procurement and operational teams on major supplier negotiations, contracts, tenders, and commercial agreements.
  • Deliver meaningful financial insight that supports decision-making across technology, operations, and senior leadership teams.
  • Monitor transformation benefits realisation, cost optimisation opportunities, and value creation initiatives.
  • Support executive-level presentations and investment recommendations.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
