Interim Finance Business Partner
6-Month Fixed-Term Contract

Habs Elstree School is seeking an experienced and commercially focused Finance Business Partner to join our Finance team on a six-month fixed-term contract.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role during a period of strategic growth, transformation and organisational change. Working closely with the Director of Finance and senior stakeholders, you will provide high-quality financial insight and analysis to support effective decision-making across the organisation.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical and analytical skills with a proactive, business-focused approach. You will have the opportunity to contribute to financial planning and analysis, management reporting, finance transformation, strategic projects and process improvement, while acting as a trusted partner to colleagues across the school.
What you'll be doing
Your responsibilities will include:
- Lead and support long-term budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities.
- Develop robust financial models, scenario analysis and business cases to support strategic decision-making.
- Produce insightful management information, KPI reporting and performance analysis, translating financial data into clear and actionable insight.
- Develop and enhance internal and external financial reporting dashboards, improving the quality, accessibility and presentation of financial information.
- Support the Director of Finance with strategic projects, organisational initiatives, business cases and ad hoc financial analysis.
- Deliver finance transformation, reporting enhancement and process improvement projects.
- Support the development, optimisation and effective use of finance systems and reporting tools.
- Contribute to year-end reporting, audit preparation and technical accounting activities.
- Work collaboratively with financial and non-financial stakeholders, providing constructive challenge and commercially focused financial advice.

About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Is a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with strong commercial and analytical capability.
- Has significant experience in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting and financial modelling, with the ability to turn financial data into meaningful insight.
- Is an effective finance business partner, confident building trusted relationships and working with stakeholders at all levels.
- Has a proven track record of delivering finance projects, process improvements and enhanced reporting.
- Has advanced Excel skills, including financial modelling, PivotTables, dashboards and complex data analysis.
- Has experience using Power BI and business intelligence tools to develop clear, insightful management information.
- Can communicate complex financial information clearly and confidently, adapting their approach for both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Is proactive, self-motivated and solutions-focused, with the ability to quickly understand a complex organisation, identify opportunities and make a positive impact from day one.
