You'll also have the opportunity to support business cases for new equipment and investment, working with clinical and operational teams to assess areas such as demand, capacity, costs and potential growth.

The Environment

You'll work across two hospital sites, with each operating as its own business unit. The role sits within the wider finance function but works closely with the hospital leadership teams, giving you excellent exposure to both financial and operational decision making.

You'll work alongside a wide range of clinical and non-clinical departments, including areas such as theatres, diagnostics, physiotherapy, radiology, stores, reception and bookings.

This is a particularly interesting opportunity for someone who enjoys getting out from behind the numbers and working directly with the people responsible for delivering the service.

The Team & Culture

The role requires someone who is confident working with senior stakeholders and comfortable challenging decisions where necessary.

You'll need to be able to make finance meaningful to non-finance colleagues, ask the right questions and build strong relationships across the hospitals.

Private healthcare experience would be advantageous, particularly experience within a multi-site environment, but it is not essential. Experience of Finance Business Partnering, FP&A or workforce optimisation within another complex organisation could also be highly relevant.

Working Pattern

• Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
• 18-month fixed-term contract
• Minimum 3 days per week across the Guildford and Woking hospital sites
• Time generally split between both sites
• Working pattern can vary depending on site activity and business requirements
• Additional home working available

The Individual

• ACA or equivalent accountancy qualification
• Post-qualified experience
• Proven Finance Business Partnering or FP&A experience
• Strong commercial and analytical skills
• Experience analysing financial performance and identifying opportunities for improvement
• Confident working with senior stakeholders
• Strong influencing and communication skills
• Comfortable challenging decisions and asking questions
• Able to translate financial information into meaningful business insight
• Experience of workforce optimisation would be advantageous
• Healthcare or private hospital experience advantageous but not essential
• Experience working across multiple sites would be beneficial

Location

Based across Guildford and Woking, with the role officially home-based and a minimum of three days per week spent across the two hospital sites. The position could suit candidates commuting from Guildford, Woking, Weybridge, Godalming, Farnham, Cobham, Leatherhead and surrounding areas.
