Job Overview
Join Mitie on one of the UK's largest and most complex justice sector contracts. We are looking for a commercially minded, qualified Finance Business Partner to support the delivery and financial success of the Justice Partners Escort and Court Custody Service (JPECCS) contract across Scotland.
In this influential role, you will partner closely with operational leaders and the Contract Director to provide financial insight, challenge, and support that drives performance, improves decision-making, and ensures contractual and corporate financial objectives are achieved.

Main Duties
- Work alongside the finance and operations teams to support in delivering the divisional objectives and strategy
- Work closely with the Head of Operations and budget holders to provide high quality financial information to support decision making
- Deliver accurate and timely financial reporting to internal and external stakeholders
- Produce the month end reporting (P & L, balance sheet, cash flow) in line with Group timetables and provide transparent contract finance reporting that will withstand management scrutiny/challenge
- Own and update the Risks and Opportunities log for IRC contracts
- Producing accurate accounting of accrued and deferred income on a monthly basis, with clear visibility and communication to the business on non-current debt
- Ensure accurate and timely client billing by agreeing proposed charges with clients in advance of billing
- Support Wipro/operational teams to continually improve processes
- Partnering with operational managers and departmental heads to prepare full annual budgets and periodic forecasts which will require travel to operational sites
- Provide commercial support as directed
- Play an active role in external/internal audits to ensure all audits are completed successfully
- Ad hoc analysis and presentation of complex financial information in response to senior management requests
- Ensure business adherence to Mitie Group financial governance policies/processes and work closely with the wider Mitie finance team members to ensure best practice is applied across I&J

What we are looking for
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, CA, CIMA, ACCA)
- Strong communication skills at all levels
- Strong knowledge of finance and operational processes and systems (SAP, TM1 and FDW)
- Experience of partnering with operational management to improve financial awareness/ownership
- High level of integrity and a commitment to embedding a strong governance culture
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements to work more efficiently and strengthen financial controls
- Influential and motivational leadership capability
- Knowledge of I&J sector/environment would be advantageous
