Finance Business Partner
Location: Pontefract
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Understanding of financial metrics and their impact on the business, supporting decision making for the operations, continuous improvement and commercial teams.

We are a family business established in Yorkshire in 1997 based in Pontefract with a reputation for exceptional product, innovation and industry leading animal welfare standards. Our facilities combine traditional British butchery technique with some of the best technological prowess in the food sector.
A committed team of over 1,100 staff oversee the whole process: from procuring the best possible livestock from our carefully picked group of farms, through butchery, retail packaging and despatch before it finally arrives on the supermarket shelf or as part of the restaurant dining experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Build & maintain relationships with existing and new stakeholders both internal & external.
- Support Management finance function when required.
- Support BoM understanding and advising where issues are arising through variance analysis.
- Play a key role in data automation and drive changes on reducing time and improving efficiency through automation of processes.
- Identify areas where AI can be used to improve reporting and create internal efficiency improvements and provide a greater understanding of business performance.

Business Partner Operations and continuous Improvements teams
- Drive reporting and variance analysis to standard costs on Meat, packaging and labour.
- Support retail management teams to understand variances and track progress of improvements.
- Support in challenging standard costs across all products and identifying changes required.
- Communicating and presenting financial reports to both finance and non-finance colleagues
- Support in understanding savings across the business and understanding the financial impact of these savings and where to apply these to standard costs.
Business Partner Commercial team
- Full ownership for tracking and reporting on promotional funds and commercial activity including ownership of balance sheet reconciliations.
- Build and support reporting and analysis across sales and margin analysis including variance to budget analysis.
- Oversee and support new products development from concept costings, factory trials to full launch product costings
- Complete scenario analysis on price point changes to provide advice and information ahead of any promotional activity or price point changes.
- Present and communicate with customers alongside the commercial team.

Requirements
- Part qualified / qualified (ACCA or CIMA)
- 3+ years' experience within a manufacturing finance role preferably within a food manufacturing business
- Strong relationship building and communication skills.
- Proven performance of adding value & driving efficiencies / cost savings
- Self-disciplined and motivated with a can-do, proactive attitude
- Ability to work collegiately with colleagues from different areas and disciplines within the same business
- Strong knowledge and experience of IT systems to improve business performance generally and in regard to developing / improving reporting efficiencies.
