Experienced Finance Business Partner

We’re looking for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our FP&A and Business Partnering team, supporting our Asset Strategy & Capital Delivery (AS&CD) directorate.

This is a high-profile role where you’ll act as a trusted financial adviser to the Asset Strategy Director and senior leadership team, helping drive financial performance, investment decisions, and long-term business outcomes across a directorate of more than 500 people.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Investment Programme Management, acting as their primary finance contact, while providing financial insight and reporting to our CFO, CEO, and AS&CD Director.

You’ll also be a senior member of our Finance team, with the opportunity to support and coach our management accountants and analysts.

This is a full-time, permanent role based at our Hatfield Head Office, with the option to work remotely up to two days a week. Due to the nature of the role and the senior stakeholders you’ll work with, flexibility around working hours is important.

What you’ll be doing

  • Act as the lead finance contact for the AS&CD directorate and senior management team.
  • Provide financial reporting, analysis, and commentary to the CFO, CEO, AS&CD Director, and Head of Investment Programme Management.
  • Lead on Opex reporting and support the delivery of Totex (Opex and Capex) reporting across the business.
  • Play a key role on the Investment Committee, providing financial advice and challenge on investment and project proposals.
  • Own regulatory Capex reporting within our Annual Performance Report (APR).
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial performance and business understanding.
  • Provide insight into financial risks, cost trajectories, and business opportunities.
  • Develop options and scenarios to support business decisions, while constructively challenging and influencing stakeholders.
  • Oversee Capex financial controls and reporting, including accruals, reconciliations, capitalisation, and depreciation.
  • Own the Capex month-end process, working with the two Management Accountants supporting the role.
  • Support the development and coaching of management accountants and analysts.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
