Operations Finance Business Partner

We are seeking an Operations Finance Business Partner to join a dynamic and commercially focused organisation. This is a commercially focused role, partnering with operational leaders to provide insight, challenge and financial guidance that supports effective decision-making, drives performance and ensures strong financial management. The ideal candidate will be analytical, commercially minded and confident influencing stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted finance partner to operational and functional leadership teams.
  • Provide insightful financial analysis, reporting and commentary to support business decisions.
  • Partner with budget holders to understand performance, identify risks and opportunities, and drive accountability.
  • Lead and support budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning activities for designated areas.
  • Analyse operational performance, expenditure and resource requirements, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, commercially relevant insights for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Support investment and business cases, ensuring decisions are underpinned by robust financial analysis.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget and forecast, challenging assumptions and driving appropriate action.
  • Work collaboratively with central finance teams to ensure accurate, timely and meaningful reporting.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls and ways of working.
  • Provide financial input into strategic and operational projects as required.
  • Contribute to the development of a strong commercial and financially accountable culture across the organisation.

About You

We are looking for someone who combines strong technical finance capability with excellent commercial judgement and interpersonal skills.

You will ideally have:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) with relevant post qualified experience.
  • Proven experience in a business partnering/business facing role.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret financial and operational data.
  • Experience of budgeting, forecasting and financial planning.
  • Confidence working with senior stakeholders and challenging constructively where appropriate.
  • The ability to communicate financial information clearly to both finance and non-finance audiences.
  • Excellent attention to detail, combined with the ability to understand the wider commercial picture.
  • A proactive approach, with the confidence to work independently and take ownership.
  • Strong Excel and financial modelling skills; experience with modern ERP, planning or reporting systems would be advantageous.
  • The resilience and adaptability to operate effectively in a fast-moving environment with competing priorities.

Package:

£70,000 - £75,000 per annum, plus bonus, PMI, & various other strong benefits.
