The Role

As Finance Business Partner you will work closely with stakeholders across the organisation, providing insightful financial analysis, robust reporting and commercial challenge.

You will act as a trusted financial adviser to key commercial business areas helping leaders understand financial performance, manage budgets effectively and make informed strategic decisions.

The role will suit a qualified accountant who is commercially minded, analytically strong and comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-profile environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with budget holders to drive financial performance and accountability.
  • Provide accurate, timely and insightful financial reporting, analysis and commentary.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting and financial planning processes for designated areas of the organisation collaborating with budget holders.
  • Analyse financial and operational performance, identifying trends, risks, opportunities and areas for improvement.
  • Translate complex financial information into clear, commercially relevant insights for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Challenge assumptions and provide constructive financial challenge to stakeholders.
  • Monitor budgets, expenditure and financial commitments, ensuring appropriate financial controls are maintained.
  • Lead month-end processes, including variance analysis, accruals, provisions and management reporting for designated areas.
  • Support preparation of monthly consolidated accounts at a commercial and club wide level.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider Finance team.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of financial processes, systems and reporting.
  • Support ad hoc commercial and strategic projects as required.

Essential Experience & Qualifications

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of post-qualified experience.
  • Strong experience of budgeting, forecasting, management reporting and financial analysis.
  • Demonstrable experience partnering with non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial acumen and the ability to connect financial performance with wider business objectives.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Advanced Excel skills and confidence working with financial models and large datasets.
  • Experience of working in a complex, fast-paced organisation with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences.

Desirable Experience

  • Previous experience within the sports, entertainment, media, leisure or consumer sectors.
  • Previous experience in a management accountant or finance business partnering role.
  • Experience with Workday.
  • Experience with Salesforce.
