As our Finance Business Partner, you’ll bring your extensive stakeholder management and commercial finance skills to provide support to the Functional Executive team member and their teams, as well as delivering key financial processes including month end, rolling forecasts and the three-year Plan.

How You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen

The main activities of the role include:

  • Ensure appropriate financial control for one or several functions/Cost centres within the Bupa functional cost base.
  • Ensure that actual, forecast and budgeted costs are fully understood by budget holders at all times.
  • Provide Exec level commentary and insightful MI across functional finances including but not limited to; monthly flash, ELOS and functional/cost centre reporting.
  • Provide proactive financial support by understanding MU and functional strategy, interlinks with transformation activity and BAU, performing financial modelling including investment appraisals and scenario modelling
  • Understand Group/MU Finance landscape and proactively engage relevant teams to support and deliver actuals, forecast, plan or modelling activities including FP&R, systems and tax.
  • Provide commercial support and, as appropriate, challenge proposed activity with alternative proposals.
  • Be data led, ensuring budget holders have relevant information required to make decisions and where possible, automate provision of data
  • Be financially accountable for advising functional leaders and CCMs on accounting including accruals, prepayments, fixed and intangible assets. Providing appropriate evidence and sign offs as well as adhering to statutory requirements fed from and to the Head of Functional Reporting.
  • Collaborate with procurement to ensure; adherance to internal policies, contracts are within funding and there is transparency
  • Be seen as a true partner to the Functional leadership team building strong relationships with key stakeholders and customers.

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

  • Hold a professional accountancy qualification – ICAEW, ACCA or CIMA (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in industry or practice within finance roles; business partnering, Financial Analysis, planning/forecasting, Management accounting and Financial Reporting
  • Business Partnering experience to an Executive team (ET) and ET-1 level – confident to present analytics and options, robustly challenge, holds an inquisitive mindset and strong understanding of corporate functions
  • Preferred experience in healthcare or regulated financial services
  • Financial modelling and investment appraisals to support key decisions
  • Storyteller – able to explain overarching finance messages to ET/ET-1 level within presentations whilst ensuring data and systems integrity
  • Experience of complex recharge/service fee models
  • Holds and continually develops influencing and negotiation skills and the ability to achieve results and successful outcomes from others where there is no shared line management.
  • Flexible and pragmatic – able to work under significant pressure and intensity, handling multiple priorities both BAU and change and taking a risk based approach
  • Experience at lean processes valued but not essential
