Finance Business Partner – Operations
Our client in the aviation sector is looking for a Finance Business Partner to support its operational leadership team. This role combines financial planning, performance analysis and hands-on accounting, helping stakeholders understand their results and make informed commercial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead budgeting, forecasting and longer-term planning for operational expenditure and capital investment.
- Deliver accurate monthly results, including journals, accruals and prepayments, alongside reviewing management accounts.
- Develop performance reports that explain key movements, track operational KPIs and highlight opportunities for improvement.
- Partner with operational teams to challenge spending, improve workforce efficiency and strengthen financial performance.
- Monitor capital expenditure and provide forecasts to support cash flow planning.
- Assess proposed investments, business changes and contract negotiations through financial modelling and business case analysis.
- Translate complex financial information into clear recommendations for senior stakeholders.
- Contribute financial analysis and commentary to board reporting.
- Improve reporting, controls and finance processes across the business.

About You

- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified, or able to demonstrate extensive experience in senior finance business partnering.
- Strong background in operational or commercial finance, including budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis.
- Experience within a labour-intensive environment such as aviation, transport or retail.
- Confident challenging and influencing senior stakeholders while building effective working relationships.
- Strong Excel and analytical skills, with the ability to explain financial information to non-finance colleagues.
- Commercially minded, proactive and focused on improving business performance.
