Finance Business Partner (Projects & Costings)

Are you a commercially minded finance professional who thrives on getting behind operational data, mastering cost control, and driving business performance?

Pineapple Recruitment is partnered with a global manufacturing business in Worcestershire to recruit a Finance Business Partner focusing on Projects & Costings.

Key Responsibilities

In this hands-on, high-impact role, you will balance core cost accounting accuracy with strategic operational partnering:

  • Standard Costing & Inventory Valuation: Own standard costing processes, oversee annual cost rolls, verify BOM/routing integrity, and manage inventory valuations, reserves, and cycle count audits.
  • Project Cost Control: Business partner with Project Managers to lead monthly job cost reviews, challenge cost-to-complete estimates, monitor project budgets and support percentage-of-completion accounting.
  • Operational Variance Analysis: Deliver detailed analysis on purchase price variances (PPV), material usage, labour efficiency, overhead absorption and margin erosion.
  • Commercial Business Partnering: Translate inventory performance and cost trends into data-driven recommendations for Operations and Senior Leadership.
  • Continuous Improvement: Streamline costing and reporting workflows, strengthen inventory controls, and improve overall cost transparency.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
