Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

In 2025, we became part of Transforming Learning Group, an ambitious education group committed to empowering schools and improving outcomes for young people.

This is an exciting time to join us. We are growing, developing our services and investing in our people, creating opportunities for our team to grow alongside the organisation.

Our offices are based in East Malling, but this is primarily a home-based role, with regular travel to client sites across the South East. Mileage will be reimbursed.

Role Summary

No two days are the same at EduFin.

Our consultants work with a wide variety of schools and academy trusts, giving you exposure to different organisations, systems, challenges and ways of working. You will quickly develop a broad understanding of education finance and gain experience that would be difficult to achieve in a traditional finance role.

Depending on your experience and development, your role could include:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Supporting schools with budget preparation, forecasting and financial planning
  • Providing finance management and absence cover, including at Finance Manager and Finance Controller level
  • Supporting clients and auditors through year-end and the preparation of financial statements
  • Providing practical advice and guidance on financial best practice and DfE requirements
  • Training and supporting school finance teams on relevant finance systems and processes
  • Helping clients to improve their financial procedures, controls and ways of working
  • Building strong relationships with clients and becoming a trusted source of financial advice
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across EduFin to share knowledge and deliver an excellent client experience

As you develop, there will be opportunities to take on greater responsibility, broaden your technical expertise and progress into more senior consultancy and leadership roles.

More than just a finance job

Working at EduFin gives you the chance to develop a career where your work has a wider purpose.

The financial advice and support we provide enables schools and trusts to use their resources effectively, strengthen their financial management and ultimately create better opportunities for the children and young people they serve.

You will be surrounded by experienced colleagues who are willing to share their knowledge, support your development and celebrate your successes.

We want people to join EduFin because they can see where their career could go, not simply because they are looking for their next job.

Ready for your next step?

If you are ambitious, curious, collaborative and excited by the opportunity to build a career in education finance, we'd love to hear from you.
