Job title: Finance Contractor

Role type: Full time

Location: Hybrid - London office

Start: ASAP

We are seeking a Finance Contractor responsible for managing and maintaining accurate financial transactions for overseas entities. This role includes overseeing transaction postings, managing accounts payable and receivable, and providing reporting support.

What you will do

Transaction posting

  • Post transactions for overseas entities accurately and on time, including bank transactions, journals, accruals, and prepayments
  • Perform bank reconciliations across multiple currencies and accounts
  • Post and reconcile intercompany transactions between entities, ensuring intercompany balances agree at each period end
  • Maintain clean, well-referenced ledgers so that every posting is traceable to source documentation

Accounts payable

  • Process supplier invoices: coding, entry, and matching to approvals in line with the delegation of authority
  • Prepare payment runs for review and approval, including foreign currency payments
  • Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies
  • Assist with the AP inbox and respond to supplier queries promptly and professionally

Accounts receivable

  • Raise and issue sales invoices accurately
  • Allocate customer receipts and reconcile customer accounts
  • Assist with the AR inbox and respond to customer queries promptly and professionally

Reporting support

  • Support month-end close for overseas entities: reconciliations, ledger reviews, and close checklists
  • Assist with information requests from external accountants, auditors, and local compliance providers

What we are looking for

  • Solid experience in a transactional finance role (bookkeeper, AP/AR specialist, or accounts assistant)
  • Experience working with overseas or multi-entity structures
  • Strong double-entry bookkeeping fundamentals; postings are accurate first time and fully referenced
  • Organised, self-directed, and reliable: able to run a repeatable weekly and monthly cycle without close supervision
  • Clear written communication for supplier, customer, and internal queries
  • High attention to detail and a habit of reconciling rather than assuming
